I have always been treated like an old friend at American Rare Coin. Everyone there has always been generous with their knowledge and time. Mark was very hands-on in taking care of a slab issue with a grading service; he didn’t even charge me for his time and expertise. Mark is the kind of guy who would take a punch for you … and give one, too! Dan is the go-to guy with diamonds and coins. Dan has incredible knowledge and will be right on target regarding a coin’s value in the marketplace. Case in point: When Dan saw my “Ship on Wheels”
(World’s Columbian Exposition half dollar) commemorative in MS-66 grade, he remarked that the coin was a thousand dollar coin. My jaw dropped. That was the price I paid! Kathryn is a TV commercial star these days (I saw her on ESPN talking about A.R.C.C.) , but she is still down-to-earth.Kathryn … kind and caring.

We were unable to find a rival in the Twin Cities…
We felt the person evaluating was very knowledgeable and careful and took his time with the many coins of many denominations and even countries. While we cannot know the actual value to American Rare Coin of the collection, their offer seemed generous to us. In all, we found the company professional and frankly, we were unable to find a rival in the Twin Cities to evaluate the collection so it seemed almost the only such large company in town. Silver dollars were quite valuable especially from the pre-1900 dates. However several single coins were singled out for more value demonstrating the detailed examination the collection received. We found the office in a large office building near the entrance, very convenient. Security was obvious.
